The MDR-8000 Microwave Digital Radio is a point-to-point microwave digital radio operating in the 2, 4, 5.8, Lower 6, Upper 6, 7, 8, 10- and 11-GHz frequency bands. The MDR-8000 is capable of carrying 4, 8, 16, or 32 x 1.544-Mb/s for low capacity applications. It is also capable of carrying 1, 2 (Part 74), or 3 x 45 Mb/s or 3 x 52 Mb/s for high capacity applications. In addition, it offers both OC-3 and Ethernet transport capabilities. Standard configurations available are as follows: non-standby, non-standby transmit with space diversity receivers, hot standby transmitters and receivers, hot standby transmitters with space diversity receivers, and frequency diversity. Non-standby space diversity ring configurations require the use of two non-standby transmit with space diversity receiver configurations. The MDR-8000 can be mounted within an optional 7′ EIA standard 19″ rack equipped with a Power Distribution Unit (PDU). Power is plus or minus 24 or 48 VDC. Radio configurations have several options.
