TN1891-PHV5 - BUY NOW AND SAVE! The PHV (Protocol
Handler for Voice) is a circuit pack in the 5ESS switch DCS that
converts between encoded-compressed voice packets and pulse coded
modulation (PCM) voice samples. Central to this conversion functionality
is a collection of digital signal processors (DSPs) that each execute
a voice-to-packet conversion. It also supports circuit switched
data (CSD) and packet switched data (PSD). PHV5 supports up to 64
voice channels and 32 low speed data channels simultaneously or
it can support up to 64 high speed data channels.
