Santa Barbara, CA, and Orlando, FL (October 3, 2012) – Tempest Telecom Solutions, LLC, a leading supplier of telecom infrastructure equipment and related services to national service providers and network operators,today announced the accelerated expansion of their DAS and Small Cell Division, and the appointment of Darlene Braunschweig in the newly created position of President, DAS and Small Cell Division, to lead this important strategic initiative at Tempest.

Tempest’s DAS and Small Cell Division provides a full suite of turnkey In-building Wireless and Outdoor DAS equipment and services to both Service Providers and Enterprise customers.Tempest has designed, engineered and installed hundreds of in-building and outdoor coverage solutions for major service providers, large enterprises, public venues, hospitals, educational institutions, municipalities and state and federal governments. Tempest’s depth of experience and expertise is leveraged to deliver high-performance, high-quality and cost effective DAS and Small Cell solutions to customers nationwide.

In her role at Tempest, Darlene will execute on Tempest’s vision of becoming a leading nationwide DAS and Small Cell infrastructure services company to support the massive growth in the sector in North America. ABI Research forecasts that the overall global market for in-building wireless is estimated to reach $3.6 billion by the end of 2013, with North America having the strongest CAGR of 20% annually for Active DAS equipment.

Darlene comes to Tempest from Corning Mobile Access, where she was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Operations and Marketing, and was instrumental in leading the company’s phenomenal growth of Mobile Access’ DAS product line to be a market leader. Previously, Darlene worked at Sprint/Nextel as the head of Sprint’s CNS group, where she lead the largest and broadest roll out of DAS systems throughout the US, focused on quality, performance and speed to market, resulting in hundreds of successful implementations. Darlene brings over 20 years of telecom experience, with 17 of those years at leading telecom service providers.
